A Small Fandom Vocabulary Lesson

I've seen this happening a couple of times lately, so I'd just like to clear it up.

This is canon:

tl;dr:  something that is in the source material.

This is cannon:

tl;dr:  something that can kill you.

Please remember that when talking about fandom, you only want one 'n' in your canon.


(Unless, of course, you are a fan of the large projectile gun.  In that case, carry on.  And please don't point it at me.)
