On Radio Edits

Recently I've been thinking about them.  I blame the radio station I listen to suddenly censoring "Rockstar" by Nickelback  (I'm not a fan of Nickelback, really, or this song; it's just the one that stands out most) a lot more.

Example:  they now censor "ass" in this song (but not others?) and "drug/s".

And I just have to ask myself, do they know that censoring those words makes it sound so much more vulgar than it actually is?  It's only natural to stick the worst word you can think of in where the censored one is because why else would they feel the need to censor it, right?

I also find it hilarious (sarcasm, obviously) that they bleep all references to drugs (except 'pop my pills from a Pez dispenser' ?!) but leave in something that could possibly trigger anorexia ('we'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat').

In conclusion:

Radio, what are you even doing?

And just for fun, here are the lyrics to the version that now plays on the radio.  I'd like to note that it's a lot more jarring to listen to than read.
